Perfect Microwave Jacket Potato Recipe

A jacket potato with butter can be a meal in itself or just add cheese or other topping and you have an easy healthy and filling accompaniment to you meals.

Jacket potatoes are good for you and are naturally low in fat and high in carbohydrate, The fattening part is the choice of topping you may wish to add.

Cooking Jacket potatoes depends on how crispy you want the skins. As a general they take about an hour in a potato or conventional oven. They can also be cooked in a microwave if you need them in a hurry

Basic recipe:

Clean potatoes and make a series of holes with a fork.

Put the jacket potatoes in the microwave and set to high for 9 minutes or until tender.

Remove from microwave and cut a slit in each jacket potato and add a knob of butter.

At this point you can also add cheese or the topping of your choice.

Put the Jacket potato back in the micro wave on high for 30 seconds or until its all bubbling nicely.
